What is Reversadoor? Reversadoor is an internal reversible door-hanging system.
Reversadoor is a system that allows for immediate reversal of a door which is hung in its frame and opens in one direction, to be removed from the frame and hung to open in the other direction, using the same materials. The REVERSADOOR System has advantages for the manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and end user.
In short, the direction of the door-opening can be reversed. Before, the necessity to make available pre-hung door assemblies in both hands essentially doubles the number of assemblies which must be made available by the manufacturer and by the distributor and retailer, requiring larger inventories greater amounts of space, both for storage and on the selling floor.
Manufacturer Benefits
- Flat pack shipments take up less space thus increasing the quantities therefore reducing the shipping costs.
Wholesaler Benefits
- Again shipment cost are reduced because of larger quantities in shipments.
- Damages will be reduced.
- Less storage space is required.
Retailer Benefits
- Smaller inventories are required therefore less space is needed.
- Stock control is easier
- Less damages.
-
Doors with metal hinges stacked against each other are prone to damages.
End User Benefits
- REVERSADOOR is a cheaper and a faster way to fit doors as a semiskilled person could fit as fast as a qualified carpenter.
- The problems relating to the existing system generally arise with door kits been hung incorrectly resulting in for example light switches ending up behind the door which would involve considerable retro fit work. REVERSADOOR is the solution.
- Retro fit work would cause delays in time schedules and therefore add costs. REVERSADOOR is the solution.
Company Information
At Reversadoor Ltd we are dedicated to serving our customer and enhancing their experience. We must earn the Customer’s trust and exceed their expectations at every opportunity. Reversadoor Ltd is based in the south of Ireland and the business plan is to licence the Reversadoor system to manufacturers / wholesaler companies of doors and door frame sets globally.
In recent years the construction industry has increasingly moved towards the supply of pre assembled factory build components to reduce time spent on site. The supply of prefabricated pre-hung door assemblies is one such development that is now common. An ongoing problem for both the manufacturers and suppliers
and the developers and installers of these products is that, depending on the configuration where the doors are to be fitted, the doors could be required to be hinged either on the left or right hand and be required to open inwards or outwards. This results in manufacturers to produce door sets in both left and right hand configurations. It also results in costly time losses on site while orders are been prepared.
The system on offer from Reversadoor Limited eliminates this problem for both the manufacturer and end user as the design allows the door to be hung in any of the necessary configurations, and stocking is easier as one unit will suit any configuration.
Endeavour
The Endeavour Programme was created by the Institute of Technology in Tralee, Shannon Development's Kerry Technology Park and entrepreneur Jerry Kennelly.
Its aim was to find the best business ideas and give them opportunity to grow.
Reversadoor has already achieved great things, and in 2009 Reversadoor Limited entered into the Endeavour Programme.
Stephen Griffin of Reversadoor Limited was one of 15 participants that were chosen, for the business training programme. The Endeavour programme has been a steep learning curve, and Reversadoor has risen rapidly since then.
Design and Innovation
Reversadoor was highlighted in the Endeavour programme, especially for its innovative idea. The company tackles a traditional problem in the construction industry. It will allow the involved manufacturers and retailers to cut costs, simply by eliminating the need to stock door sets in both left hand and right hand configurations therefore saving costs.
The creator of the Reversadoor concept, Stephen Griffin, came up with the idea when he noted that a lot of retailers wanted pre-hung door assemblies, but retailers found it difficult to stock pre-hung door assemblies because they would have to stock both left and right hung doors in quantities. One of the Reversadoor door hanging units allows you to hang a door on the left hand side or the right hand side.
With the minimum effort required you can change the direction of the door. Easy. Simple.
Construction has led to the demand for more simplified and economical building materials, components and techniques. Among the more successful assemblies offered for building construction is the pre-hung door assembly in two configurations.
Reversadoor offers a unique solution in this regard. One Reversadoor unit will suffice as a left or a right hung door. No other door assembly system offers such an effective and simple solution. Also reversing a door in a door frame is efficient and quick to implement. Check out our 3D animation and our features page to see the advantages of reversadoor.
